Creature Types?

Hi!
I am a bit confused on the creature types. I know that quest pets are obviously from quests, but what are Familiar and Hidden creatures? Do the types effect the pet's rarity? I recently just joined and love the game, only a little confused on this. ^^

Familiar and Hidden creatures are creatures that you can have when you adopted creatures, and, sometimes a mystical creature. ^^ The rarity of the creature depends on how many of this creature there are in the trade bank. Mystical creatures, for exemple, are usually rarer than familiar creatures.

Familiar are the most common of the monthly adopted 4 of each of the 5 species, and hidden are the middle level, only a little less common than familiar. Mystical are really rare.

since this persons question is similar to mine I'll just ask it here ... does hidden mean they'll never hatch? I hope not since I do what to see what all my pets grow up to be

Don't be afraid, the hidden creatures hatch, as the others ^^
This mention simply indicates the creature is a tiny bit rarer than a Familiar when they drop in the adoptions.
