They seemed very difficult to me at first too.
With a bit of forum searches, taking a look at things in a different light and a Lot of help from other users,
I was able to get them.
The first one, is like Battleship. It is much easier than it seems.
Start: Top Left (Square/Letter)
Say it says 5:6-14:10-2:11
Take one of the two first numbers in the set. (5)
Use the first number and count DOWN from Top Left.
Go Down Five numbers/spaces, from Top Left.
Then Count Six spaces to the RIGHT. THAT will be your first Letter to write down.
Remember to include the First Box when you start counting toward the Right.
Once you have that first letter written down, start again from the Top LEFT.
(14:10)
Count Down toward the Bottom 14 spaces toward your first (Square) again...
Then Count across toward the Right, 10 spaces. Write that Letter Down.
So forth and so on.
2nd Part was hard for me.
Clue I will give you that someone shared with me, Use WORD.
Copy the Latin Text that is in the Shadows.
Paste it in Word. All the words that are NOT underlined, are English words.
(Assuming you are using English and not French.)
Try those English Words and you might see one that will solve the puzzle.
